UHAI EASHRI is of the movements we represent and serve. We are led by, rooted in, and accountable to the courageous and brilliant LGBTIQ+ and sex worker activists across Eastern Africa. Our movements are not waiting for liberation—they are actively building it. UHAI exists to fuel that power. We don’t just fund change—we resource courage, accompany resistance, and amplify the radical imagination of our communities as they fight for dignity, safety, and freedom on their own terms.

(CFCS)
Changing Faces Changing Spaces
Together with our partners, UHAI EASHRI has convened the Changing Faces Changing Spaces (CFCS) Convening for over a decade, creating one of Africa’s largest and most transformative activist-led gatherings for LGBTIQ+ and sex worker movements.
These are not just conferences—they are radical, joyful, and fiercely political spaces of resistance, healing, strategy, and collective power. CFCS is where movements come home to one another. It is where African activists meet funders on their own terms, share knowledge, build solidarity across borders, and envision liberated futures. It is a space held with care—where joy and grief, celebration and struggle, are honoured as equally powerful tools of movement-building.
