Mukami Marete is a queer feminist and activist working for 20 years for human rights of sexual and gender minorities and sex workers, for reproductive justice and environmental justice. Mukami has grown UHAI - EASHRI since 2011 working as Finance and Administration Manager, then as Director of Operations, as Deputy Executive Director and as Co-Executive Director. Mukami’s experience in Finance includes work with the Kenya Human Rights Commission and Oxfam GB.

Mukami serves as a trustee at Orion Foundation, is a member of the Executive Committee of the Global Philanthropy Project and a Steering Committee member of the Sex Workers Donor Collaborative. Mukami has previously served on the boards of Greenpeace Africa, Young Women Leadership Institute (YWLI) and Miss Koch Kenya. Mukami holds an MBA in Strategy and a Bachelor's Degree in Building Economics from the University of Nairobi. Mukami also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Institute of Human Resource Management Kenya and is a Certified PublicAccountant (CPA K)
