The AIR programme offers individuals from organisations time away from their routine organising work to reflect on their strategies based on learning acquired while being placed within organisations similar to theirs in terms of strategy and organizing approaches for a period of ten (10) weeks.
An AIR process is built on the feedback from grantee partners who identify their learning needs and where the knowledge and skills can be drawn from within their peers. A transfer of lessons learned back into their organisations after the residency is integrated in the programme development. UHAI makes grants available to facilitate this learning as well as implementation of lessons learned.
The AIR programme believes that effective capacity development within grantees happen when there are opportunities for peer-to-peer networking, mentoring and information sharing and implementation of lessons learned.
